Nile 1.6 (OM) - TEST7 (20 Oct 2026): TEST6 + Water Murk fix = TEST6 (reads the updated TAC files past 2 GB; LAA / 4 GB; autosave every 5 min; crash files; 3D preview crash fix; environment colour actions) + a fixed gobj.dll. Nile.exe, misldr.dll and event_data.xml are the same files as TEST6. WATER MURK NOW WORKS IN GAME Nile showed Water Murk as a percent but saved it as a fraction (40 was saved as 0.40). The game reads that number as a whole percent, so 0.40 became 0, and 0 means "no setting": the game ignored it and used the terrain's own murk. That is why water stayed 100% opaque on some terrains (DG3 is fully murky) whatever you typed. Every Nile map ever saved had this, NovaLogic's own maps too. Now Nile saves the percent you type (40 is saved as 40), so the game gets it. Water Murk (Mission > Terrain Variables): 1 = clearest the game can do 99 = fully murky (the game's own maximum; 100 is saved as 99) 0 = no setting: the game uses the terrain's murk Whole numbers only: the game drops anything after the point (Nile rounds: 45.7 is saved as 46). Your old maps: open them in TEST7 and the box shows what you set before (old files are read the old way). Save once and the game uses it from then on. Maps saved in TEST7 and opened in an older Nile show 100x too much in the box. Stay on TEST7. Install: back up your Nile.exe, gobj.dll, misldr.dll AND event_data.xml, then copy these four over them. (If you have TEST6, only gobj.dll changed.) Tested here: in Nile, old and new maps open with the right number in the box; typing 0, 1, 40 and 100 saves 0, 1, 40 and 99; the rest of the saved map is byte-for-byte what Nile saved before. Not yet tested: the water in game - please try your map and report in TAC Mappers HQ. Files: Nile.exe 12299baa, gobj.dll 5e2319a6, misldr.dll 335256fb, event_data.xml 50b6f41d.
